The paper deals with the estimation of evapotranspiration, which is the process of water loss from both the soil surface by evaporation and the crops by transpirationThe aim of this article is to show how it is possible to display the evapotranspiration field when the measured data from meteorological stations are supplemented with the information in the form of infrared images taken by an IR camera from an airship or a plane. This obtained and computed data can be shown on the underlying ortho-photomap with the assistance of Matlab environment and its toolboxes: Mapping Toolbox and Image Processing Toolbox.
