The DAQ system was prepared for the commissioning of the TOTEM Roman Pot detectors. The system developed on the PVSS II, ver 3.6, SCADA platform provides remote multi-user access to the online data, to assure safe operation of the RP that is in the commissioning process. The systems high level architecture is SERVER-CLIENT oriented, when SERVER is placed locally in the area of the commissioning and CLIENTs can be, thanks to the TCP/IP based communication, geographically located anywhere within reach of the Internet connection. Necessary data are obtained from different types of temperature, pressure and flow-meter sensing elements. The system manages in summary communication with three ELMB units, up to 192 sensor readings, data-base with all historical values and real-time remote access to all those data to any number of observers.
