Byl vytvořen 3D model temporomandibulárního kloubu (TMK) podle dat z CT. Tento model se skládá z poloviny lebky, poloviny dolní čelisti, temporomandibulárního (TM) disku, vazů a svalů obklopující kloub. Byla provedena nelineární napěťová MKP analýza se zatížením odpovídající normálnímu skusu. Vlastnosti materiálů byly definovány z již publikovaných dat; považovány jako izotropické a lineární. Kontaktní plochy byly přiřazeny v oblasti styku TM disku a kondylu mandibuly a zároveň kontaktu TM disku s fossa mandibularis na lebce. Mezi těmito kontaktními plochami bylo dovoleno konečné klouzání. Byly získány průběhy napětí v jednotlivých částech TMK (disk, kondyl mandibuly a fossa mandibularis lebky). Výsledky zobrazují rozložení napětí při normálním skusu. A three-dimensional finite element model of the temporomandibular joint has been developed according to the CT data. The model consists of a half skull, a half mandible, a temporomandibular joint disc, ligaments and muscles surrounding the joint. Stress analysis of TMJ during normal occlusion was performed using non-linear finite element analysis (FEA). Material properties were obtained from previously published data and were considered as isotropic and linear. Contact surfaces were defined between the temporomandibular disc and the mandibular condyle and between the temporomandibular disc and the fossa mandibularis on the skull. Between contact surfaces, finite sliding was allowed. Stresses in the TMJ components (disc, mandible condyle and the fossa mandibularis on the skull) were obtained.
