The main aim of this work was to determine the relative displacement of the temporomandibular (TM) disc and the mandible during mouth opening and closure. The movement of the mandible has been already published, though only for small mouth opening, The motion of TM disc and the mandible during mouth movement was observed with use of MRI on young volunteers. Results showed behaviour of the mandible and the TM disc behaviour during mouth movement which slightly differ among individuals due to different shapes and properties of soft tissues. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo vyšetřit relativní pohyb temporomandibulárního (TM) disku a mandibuly při otevírání a zavírání úst. Pohyb mandibuly už byl publikován, ale jen pro malé otevření úst. Pohyb TM disku a mandibuly byl vyšetřován na mladých dobrovolnících za pomoci snímků magnetické rezonance. Výsledky poskytují popis chování mandibuly a TM disku během otevírání úst, které se mírně liší mezi jednotlivými probandy z důvodu rozdílných tvaru TMK a chování měkkých tkání.
