dcterms:description
Various kinds of biomaterials are becoming increasingly important in biomedical practice. New composite materials such as glass composites can potentially be used in orthopedic in the form of substitutive or connective elements. In the bone surgery have been used generally three groups of materials such as metals, ceramics and synthetic polymers. Each of them has its specific advantages and disadvantges. It is important to match mechanical and also other physical properties of the bone like to inhibit wear and fatigue failure, to match rigidity, fragility or elasticity of implants and to find non-toxic, non-immunogenic and non-carcinogenic easy available material.
