Steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) has started to more frequently replace standard reinforced concrete (RC) with steel rebars. Uniformly dispersed wires (steel fibres) reinforce the structure of plain concrete and convert the brittle concrete to tough SFRC. It is possible by means of the proper selection of wires, their incorporation into fresh plain concrete during its production, optimal composition of fresh concrete and optimal production procedure to produce precast SFRC lining segments, which can replace standard steel bar reinforced concrete segments.
