The research started last year when during the May and June 2011 the fatigue test took place in laboratories of Czech Technical University. The test was carried out on assembly M24 Macalloy S520. The tested specimen was subjected to cyclic tensile loading. Based on results of experiment in the past, it was assumed that the weakest part is a turnbuckle, thus the stress was measured there by strain gauges. Four strain gauges were glued on the turnbuckle outer surface all round every 90°. This measurement served to get information about stress distribution all round the turnbuckle; if there is uniformly distributed tension stress or if loading acts with eccentricity and the stress distribution corresponds to interaction between normal force and bending moment. The failure occurred suddenly without any visible cracks on external surface of the turnbuckle.
