dcterms:description
Application of effective media theory for the assessment of hygric and thermal parameters of historical masonry is presented in the paper. At first, hygric and thermal properties of several types of building materials which were used in the historical masonry on the Czech territory, among them ceramic brick, sandstone, and two types of lime-based mortar are measured using laboratory methods. The obtained experimental data are then subjected to homogenization procedure, and the effective heat and moisture transport and storage parameters suitable as input parameters of computational hygrothermal models are calculated.
