The paper deals with the assessment of hygric and thermal function of buildings materials and their multilayered systems. For this purpose, three basis approaches are introduced, nominally computational modelling combined with experimental measurement of material properties, in-situ measurements of temperature and moisture fields that are performed directly in the studied structure and so called test house and semi-scale experiments where the hygrothermal performance is monitored on specially built structures.
