dcterms:description
Accepting a random character of input data clearly requires considerably different approach to the solution of the problem of stability of earth slopes when compared to purely deterministic analysis. Stochastic approach to the modeling of failure of earth structures is the prominent topic of this paper. There the basic theoretical grounds pertinent to the modeling of slope stability problems are presented in the framework of finite element method and stochastic environment including simulation methods such as the Latin Hypercube sampling method and sampling techniques when dealing with samples of finite size.
