dcterms:description
Article presents development and validation of finite element model of human skull and brain in response to frontal and lateral impacts. The model is constructed based on CT and MRI data of human head of high resolution. The techniques used to generate the final FE mesh are fully automatic and need minimal user intervention. Maximal values of intracranial pressure and shear stress distributions predicted from FE simulations were compared to values obtained experimentally.
