The paper deals with:1. The study of interaction of various types of acetabularcups with pelvic bone using 2-D finite element models byapplying ANSYS programme;2. Investigating the influence of thread slope of an acetabularcup on stress state of spongy bone by means of 3-D FE model;3. Experimental and numerical research of the cementlessacetabular cup - Beznoska type. The purpose of the experimentalresearch was to measure strains at the selected points of theouter surface. Using computational model we could analyse notonly the stress state generated by concentrated load but alsoby uniformly distributed load which would be very difficultapplied during the experiment.
