In this letter we investigate a hollow-duct structure for delivery of high-power laser-diode-array radiation into an end-pumped large-aperture gain medium. A ray-tracing method has been used to evaluate the performance of the structure designed for maximum transmission efficiency and homogeneity of the output-beam profile. The variable length of the hollow duct as well as the emission angle of the laser-diode array have been taken into account. Moreover, combination of these two ducts into one structure, e. g. for power scalability of delivery of the pump-laser-diode radiation, has been assessed.
