Die Erfindung betrifft eine Nahfeldsonde, umfassend einen dielektrischen Formkörper mit einer Spitze. Der Formkörper ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest die Oberfläche der Spitze teilweise metallisiert ist. Dies führt zu einer hohen Empfindlichkeit der die Nahfeldantenne umfassenden Vorrichtungen, wie z. B. Spektroskope, Mikroskope oder Schreib-Lese-Köpfe. The near-field probe comprises a formed dielectric body with a partial metalization. The property of the metalization is to concentrate advantageously an electromagnetic wave within a frequency range of about 10 GHz to 10 THz almost without loss and dispersion on a sample area of the order of micrometers. A very strong alternating electric field arises on the tip. Its magnitude is determined by the electric intensity of incident waves times the ratio of wavelength to the tip dimensions (300 for 100 GHz a 10 micrometers). This enables a high sensitivity of devices comprising the near-field probe like, e.g., spectroscopes, microscopes or read/write heads.
