Earthworm species from representative arable soils, previously amended by sewage sludge, were sampled for biomonitoring investigation. Endogeic species of Aporrectodea caliginosa and Aporrectodea rosea were the predominant species taken. After digestion, content of heavy metals (Cd,Cu,Cr,Ni,Pb,Zn) in earthworm tissue was determined bz atomic absorption spectrometry and correlated with concentration of metals in related soils, assessed by various leaching procedures.
