The novel antitumor platinum drug BBR3464 forms on DNA intrastrand adducts which change its local conformation in a way that they do not induce a stable curvature. These intrastrand adducts are not recognized by HMG domain proteins, but they are effectively removed from DNA by nucleotide excision repair.
