Na opuštěném odkališti Chvaletice v ČR byl studován vývoj půd v závislosti na stupni sukcese a vlivu klimatu. Vysoký obsah sulfidů v sedimentech a jejich rychlé zvětrávání vede k silné acidifikaci půdního profilu a později k různému stupni zasolení. Převažující sulfátové zasolení je ovlivněno srážkovou činností a evapotranspirací. Polymetallic ores in Chvaletice were deposited. Even today the deposits remain sparsely overgrown,however,significant changes have occurred in their mineralogical composition.
