The paper deals with development and testing of miniaturised optical remission sensor for gaseous or aqueous CO2 detection. TOA-CR dye immobilized in polymer matrix was used as sensitive opto-chemical transducer. The dyed polymer layer worked on a principle of colour changes. The remission sensor with properly optimised LEDs and PIN diodes was employed for recognition of colour changes of sensitive layer. Spectral changes were further analyzed by designed electronics without using a photometer.
