The most mixing processes are designed using the value of the input energy per unit mass which is an essential integral parameter. Although the processes such as dispergation, flocculation etc. are drive by that phenomenon, the exact knowledge of the dissipation rate distribution is still difficult to obtained because the direct measurement of the local dissipation rate has not been established yet. Therefore we decided to derive the local dissipation rates and integral scale lengths using the temporal dependencies of the local velocities. Several data obtained for an agitated vessel from the measurements (LDA, PIV) and numerical simulations (LES) are compared and processed by the turbulence spectral analysis in selected points with respect of the relation to dominant flow and turbulence isotropy. The dissipation rates and the integral scale lenghts are derived using the various methods and theoretical presumptions which are compared and analysed.
