The contribution deals with a theoretical and experimental investigation of spreading of highly concentrated suspensions over a horizontal plane. The original set of Saint-Vennant equations of incompressible free surface flow in thin layers established for Newtonian fluids is modified to solve also flow of non-Newtonian flujids with arbitrary rheolgical behaviour. The contribution focuses on a case of axially symmetric flow over horizontal plane. Conservative equations are solved using discontinuous Galerkin method. A series of experiments was performed for verification of the theoretical solution. Highly concentrated non-Newtonian suspensions were spread over the horizontal plane and the flow depths and velocities were determined using a video-camera recording. The theoretical results and experimental data are in a good agreement. The theoretical results and experimental data are in a good agreement. Příspěvek se zabývá teoretickým a experimentálním výzkumem roztékání vysoce koncentrované suspenze na horizontální ploše. Původní Saint-Vennantovy rovnice nestlačitelného proudění s volnou hladinou jsou modifikovány a umožňují řešit proudění ne-newtonských tekutin s libovolnými reologickými vlastnostmi. Rovnice jsou řešeny pomocí diskontinuální Galerkinovy metody. Pro verifikaci teoretického řešení byly provedeny experimenty s osově symetrickým roztékáním ne-newtonské suspenze. Rychlosti roztékání byly snímány pomocí digitální videokamery. Teoretické i experimentální výsledky jsou v dobré shodě.
