Our contribution deals with comparison of pressurized TG analyses of desulfurization by means of Cizkovice limestone under simulated, steady state reducing conditions, temperature 800 and 900 oC, operating pressure 10 bar (1,0 MPa) with results on pressurized fluidized bed combustion (PFBC) of selected coals with 'in situ' desulfurization by the same limestone at similar conditions. Sub-stoichiometry of PFBC of coal was characterized by air/fuel ratio 0,75. Comparison of attainable conversions of Ca in limestone, attainable degree of desulfurization and theoretical predictions of desulfurization under reducing conditions reveals, that the process of desulfurization in substoichiometric PFBC with air/fuel ratio > 0,7 is more complicated and for description of the process reaction mechanism and path involving formation and reduction of CaSO4 have to be considered.
