The ENA1 gene encoding plasma membrane Na+ATPase in the pathogenic C. glabrata was amplified by PCR and cloned behind the constitutive Saccharomyces cerevisiae NHA1 promotor into S. cerevisiae/E.coli (URA3/AmpR) shuttle vectors YEp352 or pGRU1 (for expression of Ena1 proteins tagged with GFP at their C termini).
