Pharmacogenetic analysis was carried out in F2 hybrid population derived from Prague hypertensive hypertriglyceridemic and normotensive normolipidemic Lewis rats. Several quantitative trait loci for particular blood pressure components (dependent on renin-angiotensin system, sympathetic nervous system or nitric oxide) were disclosed. This pharmacogenetic approach should enable to determine the main causative blood pressure regulating systems in hypertension.
