In one of our previous papers, we asserted that though knowledge management (KM) implementation and the building of learning organizations have become vital assumptions for a company’s ability to compete in a knowledge society, universities have largely been ignored as a specific type of organization. The framework attempts to implement a model that directly addresses the problem of “knowledge hoarding” at universities, as previously discussed. This paper aims to move from the proposed framework to an application—a case study at such the sort of teaching university discussed in the earlier article in the regions under examination (the Slovak and Czech Republics). Consequently, this study can serve as a practical starting point for implementation of a student-centred approach to knowledge management.
