The main issue of the paper is stabilization of the original foundations of the brick university building, which instantly adjoins the new extension. Moreover, there are complicated foundation conditions of the tectonically disrupted, and unstable, undermined territory with the occurrence of quicksand. Therefore there exists static and design solution of the spatial reinforced concrete underground structure (foundations) and hybrid frame structures with locally supported plates. At the same time it is important to consider elimination of the undermining effects and the possible discontinuous soil subsidence by division of the structure into solid expansion units and application of the sliding joint between the foundation and bedrock.
