dcterms:description
Slide joints in foundation structures are used for elimination of cracks due to shrinkage, creep or when the deformation of subsoil is expected, for instance in an undermined area. In the paper the development of slide joints shear resistance testing methods is analysed. An experimentally appointed relation of slide joint resistance versus temperature ought to contribute to optimisation of slide joint and foundation structure design, particular experiments are in the testing of the operation. Calculation of temperature distribution enables an estimate of the temperatures expected in the slide joint. Using Nonstac computer program, which numerically solves the differential equation of heat transfer, it is possible to take into consideration both the setting heat of hydration and variation of outside temperature, and in isolated cases also the initial warming of a foundation structure. The stress and strain in a foundation structure with bitumen slide joint is analysed.
