The antioxidative effect of homoizoflavonoide has been studied in vitro by determinating peroxidation of lipids and in vivo in alloxan-induced diabetes mellitus in laboratory rat. Homoizoflavonoide was administered orally during 20 days in the dose of 10 mg/kg/day. It results from the parameters (glucose, urea and cholesterol levels) monitored in serum and from the determination of enzymes (SOD, GSHPx), overall antioxidative capacity (AOC) and malondialdehyde levels, that homoizoflavonoide has protective antioxidative effect.
