The paper reports on the changes in the chemical composition of breast and thigh muscles in intensively fed chickens of common pheasant, discussing the results obtained from the perspective of the production of high-quality pheasant meat. Young pheasants were fed for 90 days. It follows from the results of analyses that the chemical composition of pheasant meat varies significantly with the age of pheasants. From a dietetic point of view one positive finding is that pheasant meat is rich in proteins. Práce sleduje změny v chemickém složení prsní a stehenní svaloviny u intenzivně krmených kuřat bažanta obecného a hodnotí dosažené výsledky z hlediska produkce vysoce kvalitního bažantího masa. Mladí bažanti byli krmeni po dobu 90 dnů. Jak je zřejmé z výsledků analýz, chemické složení bažantího masa se signifikantně liší v závislosti na věku bažantů. Z dietetického hlediska je pozitivní zjištění, že bažantí maso je bohaté na proteiny.
