Pig. Developmental immunology employs the pig model because of character of epitheliochorial placentation impermeable for mother immunoglobulins. Thus studies of spontaneous development of effector defence mechanisms have excellent advantage. We focused on innate immune responses mediated by natural killer (NK) cells, when former data were without evidence of NK cytotoxicity with conventional target cells. We used for fetal NK cytotoxicity experiments special targets - combination of xeno - and isogeneous surface determinants, i.e. rat C6 glioma cells (t -C6 cells) transfected with pig T lymphocyte determinants. Our measurements starting pig fetal day 100 up to postnatal day 35 proved NK activity with t - C6 cells significantly higher in comparison with conventional targets cells (K 562). Development of innate immune responses with NK cells is supported by high increase of bactericidal activity of piglet phagocytes against S. typhimurium, LT2 type. Goat. Goat as a ruminant model, was chosen becau Pig. Developmental immunology employs the pig model because of character of epitheliochorial placentation impermeable for mother immunoglobulins. Údaje popisující tuto oblast přirozené imunity jsou prozatím velmi omezené.
