The Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique was used to study of genetic diversity a relationships within the collection of the Czech National Plant Genetic Resources (PGR) of peaches (Primus persica L.) The aim of the work was to obtain a collection of characteristic electrophoretic records of the observed cultivars. The total DNA was extracted from the young leaves of 60 peach cultivars within the PGR collection maintained by Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. During the basic screening 46 primers (40 primers of Operon - series E, M and 6 synthesized primers) were applied to 6 cultivars mutually different in the place of origin, in the fruit shape, in the fruit color and in the other morphological characteristics. Among the group of screened primers were chosen ones, which gave polymorphic, repeatable and strong or middle strong bands. The group of 12 selected RAPD primers distinguished all 60 evaluated peach cultivars.
