dcterms:description
This paper shows the positive effects of soil organic matter on fertility of anthropogenic soils formed in the process of coal mining. In our research, soil organic matter was added to pure mine soil in form of a slow release organo-mineral fertiliser and symbiotic mycorrhiza (both commercially available). A large experimental plot in Northwest Bohemia (Czech Republic) was set up with three tree species commonly used for soil reclamation (maple, pine, and spruce). Important biometric and vitality parameters were measured in four consecutive vegetation periods. The results show a very positive reaction in all conducted tests. The first and second vegetation periods show the greatest differences; however year-to-year dynamics are also visible in the conducted tests in the third and fourth year.
