Since German physicist Otto von Guericke created the first electric generator in 1663 electrochemistry have been developing as new scientific branch. The part of this branch comprises electroanalytical techniques. Several of these techniques are reviewed and discussed with emphasizing on adsorptive transfer stripping technique and on coupling of electrochemical devices with flow or chromatographic instruments. Applications of the mentioned techniques are also reviewed.
