The effect of particle size distribution of skeletal plough layers on wear of tilling mechanisms was simulated in a drum apparatus designed by Bond in which steel prisms made of high-grade, low-alloy steel 14 260 (ČSN 420002) rotated together with experimental soil samples. Skeletal ploughing layers of cambisols cause a much stronger wearing effect than those of chernozem, which has no skeleton. The clay fraction (particles < 0.001 mm) showed the strongest wearing effect (R2 = 0.9257). Strong dependences of steel wear were recorded for fractions 2.00 -- 0.25 mm, 0.05 -- 0.01 mm and < 0.01 mm, viz. R2 = R2 = 0.8186; 0.7752 and 0.7620, respectively. The relationship between the wear and the skeleton was of medium strength (R2 = 0.6284). Vliv zrnitostního složení skeletovitých ornic kambizemí na opotřebení kultivujících mechanizmů byl simulován v Bondově přístroji, ve kterém rotovaly ocelové hranolky vyrobené z oceli žíhané na měkko 14 260 (ČSN 420002) společně se zkoumaným vzorkem ornice. Skeletovité ornice kambizemí způsobují značně větší opotřebení než ornice černozemí neobsahující skelet. Obsah frakce jílu (částice < 0,001 mm) ovlivňuje opotřebení nejvýrazněji (R2 = 0.9257). Značná závislost opotřebení oceli byla zaznamenána pro frakce 2,00 - 0,25 mm, 0,05 - 0,01 mm a < 0,01 mm, kde R2 činí 0,8186; 0,7752 a 0,7620 pro každou. Vztah mezi opotřebením a obsahem skletu je méně těsný (R2 = 0.6284).
