Our presented contribution is focused on the object recognition from the images in industrial applications. The recognised objects are common machine parts placed on a conveyor belt. The goal is to find object position and orientation on the belt. This allows further manipulation with the object with stationary manipulator. As an input for the object recognition algorithm, a set of 3D models is given. This article is focused on three key issues: automated generation of 2D images of the 3D models; computation of the object key points from these images using SURF or edge detection method; interconnection of these key points into a graph and its storage into a database.
