In my presentation, I would like to explore perception of risk contained in experiential learning programs. As this area is difficult to capture in its complexity, my co-researcher and i selecdted a single case study - perception and interpretation of risk by the I st year sudents of the Olomouc Faculty of Physical Culture´s Department of Recreology. Although the study deals, in consequence of the findings of a pre-research carried out in years 2007 and 2008, specifically with specific aoutdoor challenge activities, we would like courses. The interpretations of combined qualitative and quantitative data may provide a basis for further discussion hopefully leading towards better understanding of the meaning of risk and of the role it plays in experiential education.
