Appropriate decision making cannot be made without sufficiently precise information. Most of the information acquired by different methods of spatial data processing is inaccurate in the certain extent and it is very important to know the range of this inaccuracy. In order to supply the user with both result of analysis as well as its uncertainty there are needed mathematical models. The paper presents several models of uncertainty and its propagation as well as the semantic of uncertainty and the practicability of selected models for surface analysis. Summarized are also benefits to the decision making with uncertain data propagation in geographic information system.
