Plicní embolizace je vyvýjející se nemoc; opakované malé embolizace mohou vést k plicní hypertenzi. Objectives: Pulmonary embolism is still challenging disease; repetitive small emboli could result in pulmonary hypertension. Lung scintigraphy is proof and accepted diagnostic method with high sensitivity. Time course of emboli, however, is not much interesting for clinicians. Therefore, the aim of our study was to determine how the perfusion pattern changed in patients post pulmonary embolism. Methods: We evaluated 815 pts sent to our dpt due to suspicion for pulmonary embolism. 163 of them had some perfusion defect but only 35 (21%) pts (11 m, 24 f), avg age 68 (34-97) y were sent for follow-up examination. There were 1 to 7 follow-up studies. Perfusion was done with Tc-99m macro aggregated albumin on planar gamakamera. Chest X-ray was usually available. We evaluated frequency and time of recanalization of perfusion defects. Results: Follow-up interval was from 7 to 537 days (median 43). Complete recanalization was detected in 12/35 (34%) pts, improvement but Objectives: Pulmonary embolism is still challenging disease; repetitive small emboli could result in pulmonary hypertension.
