Ceramic objects belong among the best preserved archaeological materials, which have been produced for thousands of years by many cultures. The characterisation of archaeological ceramics is very complex due to the heterogeneity of the materials. FTIR technique is one of the useful tools for characterization of ceramics composition. This minireview summarized pieces of knowledge about recent using of infrared spectroscopy for describing archaeological ceramic matrixes.
