Talc belongs to a very important industrial mineral which is widely used in the form of a fine powder. The physicochemical properties of talc were studied using a various techniques. This work brings the overview about of characteristics talc structure and procedures mechanical (grinding and sonication) and chemical (acid activation) before its primary use. The experimental part is devoted to the study of structural changes of talc after grinding in combination with the action of hydrochloric acid. Combination milling and acid treatment increased the SSA of talc from the 10.1 m2/g to the 17 m2/g and the temperature of dehydroxylation about 41°C after acid treatment and milling and about 58°C after milling and acid treatment.
