Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) up to now are the most researched materials of the 21st century with an international intention of growing industrial quantities due to their superior properties for use in many applications. At this study, two samples of carbon nanotubes and multiwaled carbon nanotubes were purified by oxidizing and no-oxidizing methods. Purification process consisted from four consecutive steps. First was oxidizing at drying oven, next two steps were mixing with hydrochloric and nitric acid, respectively by standard reflux method and the fourth was mixing with hydrogen peroxide. Samples before and after purifying were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction method. The XRD patterns of samples showed removed of carbon impurities and increased of crystallinity after purification.
