Metallurgical slags with respect to their volume of production belong between important secondary byproducts originating during the pyrometallurgical manufacturing. The technology of blast furnace slag treatment, as well as its granulation process, gives valuable product known as granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS).The main area of the GBFS utilization is industry of inorganic binders. Production of slags obtained during steels manufacturing is also huge, but in contrary to the GBFS their more valuable exploitation is troublesome, mainly due to their various chemical and phase composition. Slags from steel production are deposited in landfills or utilized as aggregates. Studied samples represent one granulated blast furnace slag and two ladle slags, for each slag two fractions differing in particle size were studied. In general, one of the most important presumptions carefully monitored at materials which are being used for further applications is their %22eco - friendly%22 character.
