Our long-term collaboration research combines the expertise of Southern Illinois University, USA and its Center for Advanced Friction Studies with that of the Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic and its Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology Center. The aim is to produce a cooperative research investigating the friction interface of brake materials including also researchers and PhD student exchange. The research involves determination of the physical, chemical, and crystallographic changes that occur during sliding processes on the surface of friction composites.
