Delamination/exfoliation process of the Mg-vermiculite (Letovice, CZE), particles with size less than 5 μm, was studied after potassium persulfate treatment and compared with known method of hydrogen peroxide treatment. X-ray powder diffraction patterns showed that treatment of Mg-vermiculite with different molar concentration of persulfate at the temperature 60 °C for 2 h. caused reduction of relative intensity of the basal 001 diffraction to the 15 %, 9 % and 4 %, respectively, compared to intensity of 001 diffraction of untreated Mg-vermiculite (100 %). On the other hand Irel. of the 001 diffraction of Mg-vermiculite after treatment with 30 % and 50 % hydrogen peroxide decreased only to Irel. = 36 % and 32 %, respectively. Atomic Force Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy verified effect of the treatment on structure degradation connected with higher degree of delamination/exfoliation of the particles and their cracking into nano-sized particles. Byl studován proces delaminace/exfoliace Mg-vermikulitu (Letovice, ČR), s částicemi pod 5 μm, po úpravě peroxodisíranem draselným a provedeno srovnání s používanou metodou úpravy peroxidem vodíku. Záznamy rtg práškové difrakce ukazují, že úprava Mg-vermikulitu roztoky peroxodisíranu o různé molární koncentraci při teplotě 60 °C po dobu 2 h způsobily snížení relativní intenzity bazální 001 difrakce na 15 %, 9 % a 4 %, ve srovnání s intenzitou 001 diffrakce původního Mg-vermikulitu (100 %). Oproti tomu, Irel. 001 difrakce Mg-vermikulitu po úpravě 30 % a 50 % roztokem peroxidu vodíku se snížila pouze na Irel. = 36 % a 32 %. Mikroskopie atomárních sil a skenovací elektronová mikroskopie potvrdily vliv peroxodisíranu na strukturní degradaci související s vyšším stupněm delaminace/exfoliace částic a jejich rozpad na nanočástice.
