In the present work the hydrometallurgical extraction of zinc from EAF dust was studied. This material was treated with sulphuric acid at the elevated pressure. More than 90% of zinc can be leached with the diluted H2SO4 solution at the temperature above 250°C. Fe(II) merges into the solution while most of Fe(III) remains in the solid residue. The hematite precipitation of the ferric sulphate solution was carried out. The reaction was ascertained to be first?order with respect to Fe(III).
