Material TRIPLEX is usually constituted on the followed chemical composition: Fe-26/30Mn-10/12Al-0.9/1.2C. Microstructure is preferentially based on the FCC arrangement, consists of nano-size k-carbides regularly dispersed in the FCC matrix and of low ferrite content. Strength matrix level is connected with the solid solution strengthening and with fine carbides precipitation. Uniformly arranged shear bands (SIP effect) formation influences deformation process of discussed material and achieved beneficial technical response. TRIPLEX demonstrates density reduction, strength level higher than 1000 MPa, excellent formability and high resistance to dynamic loading (high absorption and achieved dynamic capacity). Material is perspective for numerous applications in automotive industry, in cryogenic technique and for rotating machine elements.
