Catalytic reduction of nitrous oxide by ammonia was tested over catalyst prepared by calcinations of Co-Al hydrotalcite. The effect of O2 and O2+NO on N2O decomposition was tested. The catalytic oxidation of ammonia was also studied. The N2O conversion increased in the presence of ammonia as well as in the presence of ammonia together with NO. Huge decrease of N2O conversion was observed in the presence of ammonia together with oxygen. It was proved that a small amount of N2O originates from ammonia oxidation over tested catalyst. The possible inhibitors could be water vapor and NO2 rising from ammonia oxidation. Katalytická redukce oxidu dusného amoniakem byla sledována na katalyzátoru připraveném termickým rozkladem Co-Al hydrotalcitu. Byl testován vliv O2 a O2+NO na konverzi N2O a sledována katalytická oxidace NH3. Bylo zjištěno, že v přítomnosti amoniaku konverze N2O vzrostla a to i v přítomnosti NO. Je-li ve vstupní směsi přítomen spolu s amoniakem i kyslík, dochází k výraznému poklesu konverze N2O. Bylo prokázáno, že oxidací amoniaku vzniká malé množství N2O. Možnými inhibitory rozkladu N2O jsou voda, která vzniká oxidací amoniaku a NO, případně NO2, které mohou rovněž vznikat oxidací amoniaku.
