Magnesium alloys are primarily used in aeronautical and automotive industries and they are characterised by wide variety of structural characteristics because of their favourable combination of tensile strength 160 to 365 MPa and low density (1 740 kg/m3). Some technological aspects of production of selected magnesium forming alloys are presented in the first part of this paper. Experimental part studies the possibility of forming of the magnesium alloys AZ91 and presents the structure and mechanical properties of these alloys.
