The article deals with the application of RFID technology in protective equipment management system. The solution involves the creation of protective equipment management system for fire departments with application to rescue units of mines. Current tasks lie in the analysis of the processes that will be automated and in the definition of the optimal parameters of the UHF transponder, its location and the method of embedding in the protective suit. System will be used for monitoring and revision of equipment and its added value dwells in improvement of firefighter security during action. There is also an additional value for manufacturers that dwells in more effective equipment production, traceability and faulty product detection. Early detection of these errors and omissions decreases the time period necessary to proper reaction. This article also describes practical laboratory experiments associated with tags testing in terms of resistance to washing and impregnation processes.
