In this time a large quantity of waste water, which is currently discharged into sewage systems or receiving bodies, is generated in the course of potato processing, which significantly increases the values of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). The potato waste water contains considerable quantities of starch that is an economically valuable raw material. It is used in the food processing, fermentation industry, pharmacy, production of glue and coatings, etc. The paper deals with possible extraction of starch from waste water obtained from potato cold-processing by means of flotation.
