6 years solution of GAČR No. 105/98/KO45 task %22Project of atmosphere protection system against methane leakage from mines closed in Ostrava agglomeration%22 on VŠB TUO, Faculty of Mining and Geology and Institute of Economics and Management Systems is based on knowledge and possibilities of solvers with modeling of gases flowing and modeling of ventilation networks. This was utilized for modeling of gases flowing in the areas with the mining activity finished. In this contribution some knowledge obtained by modeling of gases flowing and their leakage into atmosphere are summarized, and namely in the areas which the solver could learn from old mine maps and later they could verify the results obtained by modeling at exhaustion test. The goal of this contribution content is to inform the mining public with the knowledge obtained and, further, with the possibilities provided by modern computer technique for modeling of apparently non-recognizable phenomena.
